Mike Barcomb is the co-owner of RedCup English and a Ph.D. student in Education (Applied Linguistics) at Concordia University with concentrations in phonology and educational technology. RedCup English is a private business that utilizes a combination of Skype lessons and Moodle to provide English L2 learners a number of ways to practice their oral skills in an environment amenable to pronunciation practice. His research interests include explicit pronunciation instruction and the pedagogical effects of video games, gamification, Moodle, and distance learning.
