Moodle is used to deliver learning to over 90,000 annual users from four major Health Organizations in British Columbia: Vancouver Coastal Health Authority, Providence Health Care, Fraser Health Authority, and Vancouver Island Health Authority. Every employee, practicum student, volunteer, and physician in the health authorities are required to complete mandatory education every two years via Moodle. In addition to the mandatory courses, there are 657 courses delivered on our Moodle site. The courses are largely self-paced, and are becoming more interactive and engaging with the use of customization and multi-media.

We have developed customized themes, formats, innovative user interface, and a mobile app. You'll take away ideas on how to customize Moodle without making it difficult to upgrade, custom course layouts, adding CSS and Javascript to courses, uses of Apps, ways of delivering self-paced education, and strategies on how to deal with high volumes.
