Evaluate the Design of an Online Activity: a Case Study

Geneva Centre for Autism newly developed an online certificate course titled Autism Intervener Certificate Course - Online. This course was a self-phased course and is delivered entirely online via Moodle.  A case-based activity called "The Iceberg Profile” was included in this course.  A small-scale evaluative usability test was conducted to identify the design issues at this online activity. Three participants participated in the test. Multiple methods were used such as observations, interviews, questionnaires and course logs. Five areas of design-related issues were identified and seven recommendations were provided. Multiple adjustments were made to the online course as the results of this test.
