Integrating technology within curricula and classrooms.  From aerospace to robotics, and wearable electronics to coding, find out how to go beyond websites and tablets through project-based learning and K-12 makerspaces.  Discover what some teachers are doing to provide their students with hands on, student centric, inquiry based collaborative project-based learning as Jeff Willson, Executive Director of Brilliant Labs, a non profit organization with a mandate to promote creativity, innovation, and an entrepreneurial spirit within our youth,  shares his experiences helping to develop over 30 public school makerspaces in the Maritimes and his work helping teachers develop hundreds of project-based learning opportunities.  He will share his insights and some of the many projects of innovative Maritime teachers who have championed the integration of transformative technologies within their classrooms, not only as a way to engage students, but to support student learning, find creative ways to spark innovation, share curricular outcomes, and prepare our youth for a successful future.

Intégration des technologies au service de l’apprentissage de l’élève.  De la robotique à l’aérospatial et des technologies mettables à la programmation informatique, allez au delà des sites web et des tablettes numériques avec l’aide de la pédagogie active et des labos créatifs (places aux fabricants).  Venez participer à un partage des expériences de Jeff Willson, Directeur général des Labos créatifs, un organisme à but non lucratif qui vise à promouvoir la créativité, les idées novatrices, et un esprit entrepreneurial chez les jeunes.  Il partagera ses expériences acquises en développant plus de 30 labos créatifs (places aux fabricants) pour des écoles maritimes de la maternelle à la 12e année.  Il partagera aussi ses expériences avec des centaines de projets pédagogiques, technologiques, et entrepreneuriaux qui intègrent de nouvelles technologies transformatrices afin d’appuyer l’élève à non seulement développer les compétences du 21e siècle, mais des appliquer afin de transformer leur avenir.

Jeff Wilson

Jeff Willson is an educator, a maker, and a lifelong learner. As Executive Director of Brilliant Labs, he promotes STEAM and Maker education by supporting students and educators throughout the Maritime provinces with project-based learning and developing Makerspaces for K-12 schools. He believes in collective impact, learning by doing, and finding innovative ways of integrating hands on technology within classrooms and curriculum.
