Plenary: Connecting Beyond Content

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule and see who's attending!

Online education - whether on LMS platforms like Moodle or in open offerings like MOOCs - often centres around content. Yet education is never as much about what we teach as how. When digital technologies allow us to connect directly to people and the contexts for their ideas, the possibilities for online teaching extend far beyond merely putting content online. This talk will explore the world of connectivity possible when we think of our courses as connection platforms rather than content platforms, and suggest it may be time to leave a content-focused view of education behind.
